6.7.3 Limitations
All driving using AutoCheck and AutoPilot is done at the sole responsibility of the operator, who will also be required to check correct operation.
Be sure to regularly check the actual drilling depth.
When the soil is too coarse and the soil clods too large, the sliding runners will travel on top of the clods. As a result, the system will interpret the soil clod surface as the sowing bed, causing the machine to drill too shallowly. As a rule of thumb, the soil clod size under the drilling machine should not exceed 10 cm in diameter.
To achieve the best results, speed during drilling should be kept uniform. If the tractor pulls the drill at low speed up a hill and at high speed down a hill, the operator should pay close attention to AutoPilot operation. The system will be affected since the amount of flying soil affects the operation of the trailing runners, and the result will differ markedly at low and high speed. During normal use, this should not pose any problem.
After the seed hopper has been filled and the machine is lowered into the ground, the speed should initially be kept relatively slow to allow the system to correctly adjust the drilling depth.
Raise the machine to High-Lift height prior to reversing. Check whether the runners have snared the ground.
AutoPilot/AutoCheck does not operate at driving speeds below 2 km/h (or at a standstill).
